The Champaign Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 2000 block of West Moreland Boulevard. At 4:46 this morning, CPD officers received a call of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found a 36-year-old female unresponsive inside a vehicle with multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The preliteracy investigation indicates that the victim was shot multiple times by the suspects while sitting inside the vehicle. Police are currently processing the scene and interviewing possible witnesses. No arrests have been made.

UPDATED:
Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup has released the name of the victim of the shooting. Lisa Lewis, 36 of Champaign Il died at 5:24 A.M of her injuries. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow. The shooting incident still remains under investigation.
