The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 4,453 new and probable cases of COVID-19, including 105 additional deaths.
State Numbers:
There have been 942,362 cases of COVID-19 and 16,074 deaths. Labs tested over 51,000 specimens in the last 24 hours. As of last night, 4,243 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 884 patients were in the ICU, 515 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators. The seven-day positivity rate from Dec. 21 to Dec. 28 is 7.2%.
Champaign County Numbers:
The Champaign-Urbana Public Health Department is reporting 13,582 confirmed COVID cases, with 606 active or in isolation. 12,892 have recovered. 8 total Champaign County residents are in the hospital with COVID-19, and 85 have died.
